• Steel, our main product, plays a crucial role in our sustainability vision.
  It is characterized by efficient use, high durability, circular economy potential and advanced technologies.
  Steel contributes to the reduction of waste products and plays a central role in sustainable building culture.
• Our digitalization initiatives optimize work processes and reduce paper consumption.
  Administration at Urban Industries is already largely paperless.
  State-of-the-art ERP software enables the digitalization of all processes from ordering to invoice verification.
• The networking of all machines in production and access to ERP software at every workstation continue to reduce paper consumption.
  We are also striving to go paperless in the area of logistics.
• The digitalization of the incoming goods process enables real-time information on deliveries for all areas of the company.
  Our sales department is fully digitalized.
  Orders are processed via our ERP software and all documents are transmitted digitally to our customers.
• To reduce electricity consumption, we use photovoltaics on our roofs.
  Planned plants in Germany and the Netherlands will further expand our capacities.
  We are investing in a nitrogen plant for in-house production so that we can consume all the electricity at our Dutch site ourselves.
  This saves on the delivery of gas.
• In the future, we plan to generate hydrogen to store electricity for times when solar radiation is low.
  Electric forklift trucks, charged by photovoltaics, reduce emissions during internal goods movements.
• We source our materials almost exclusively from European plants with strict environmental protection standards.
  Some of our suppliers use environmentally friendly technologies, such as the production of steel using electric arc furnaces.
• The complete recycling of our scrap is a matter of course for us.
  Steel scrap can be reused without any loss of quality, which conserves natural resources and reduces energy and exhaust emissions.
  We see potential for cooperation to return scrap to the production process.
• We rely on the multiple use of packaging materials such as steel straps, packaging film, squared timber and cardboard.
  We also use used pallets to conserve raw materials and save energy resources.
• With our ISO 14001 certification, this is exactly where we start to continuously improve our sustainability.
